George started his musical days in the 1960s playing with friends in and around Columbia, PA. After a charming visit to Vietnam, George returned to play the local bar scene with a band called Genesis (no, not the real one). He then started the Susquehanna River band with Stu Huggins, Phil Horn, and drummer Jerry Harris. George played with the River Band and also with the Crickets (no, not the real ones) through 1986. Then, with the exception of playing on an album with Indian singer/songwriter Jesse Nighthawk he removed himself from the musical scene until he resurfaced with Hot Wired in 2002.

George lists his musical influences as Mike Bloomfield, Jerry Garcia, and most of the guitarists of the psychedelic '60's.
